5/29/21  From a cassette tape found in the archives, listen to our final broadcast at our former home for four years at 540AM WWCS Radio in Canonsburg, PA, on Friday, February 9, 2001. Hear what the show sounded like 20 years ago! Pam, Jerry and Don Rutkauskas are joined by a few guests during those final two hours. This was a transition time for our show as our time ended abruptly at WWCS and it was prior to confirming the move to KHB Radio two weeks later. Tune in from the Broadcasts page and enjoy!

1/22/21  Jerry is back producing a one-hour Slovenian Cleveland Style broadcast on Milwaukee's Polka Parade. AM 1340/98.7 FM WJYI. Check out their site for more great polka music online. Tune in this specific hour from the Broadcasts page.

9/3/20  Dave English has written and built a play entitled The Dragon of Polish Hill, produced at The New Hazlett Theater in Pittsburgh. It's a rust belt folk tale set in the Polish Hill neighborhood of Pittsburgh where he lives. The main character is an old Onion man named Stanley Onion who happens to be one of the oldest people in the world and a former polka dancer. We learn about his amazing life through his rocky friendship with a young hipster punk who just moved to the neighborhood. The play includes original characters, story, puppets, dancing, and music! Due to the pandemic the in-person version of the play was cancelled so they are turning it into a movie, which means people can watch it anywhere in the world! The live screening is happening September 24th and 25th with a live Q&A afterward. Learn more about the play here. Listen to the original soundtrack here.

7/24/20  We regret to announce that our 23rd Radio Anniversary Dance (originally scheduled for April 19, then rescheduled for May 17) and our Annual Summer Dance on June 21 had to be canceled due to Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's restrictions on holding public events of any size. Also, great annual festivals that normally would take place over Memorial Day Weekend and the second weekend in July, notably the National Button Accordion Festival and the SNPJ's Slovenefest, have also been canceled due to the governor's restrictions.

11/30/19  Winners of the Support / Promotion Award!
The voting members of the National Cleveland Style Polka Hall of Fame have awarded us their their 2019 Support / Promotion Crystal Award at the Polka Hall of Fame Awards Show.  This was our 19th consecutive year being nominated for this prestigious annual award, winning it for just the second time since 2007.  We thank YOU, all the people that continue to vote for us.  The winners were announced at the PHOF's award show held Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019 in Cleveland, OH.

7/18/19  Sad news to report: the passing of "Western PA's Polka Ambassador" Bill Seles. He was a great influence to us as a DJ, promoter and a person. R.I.P Bill. View the write-up by Trib Live here and the obituary here.

2/15/19  Sad news to report the passing of my (Jerry's) father, Gerald (Jerry) Zagar Sr. on Thursday, Feb. 14. "Senior" was a great supporter of everything I and we (Pam) did, especially when it came to polka music. I'm sure there's at least one more polka for you in Heaven. Rest in Peace, dad. View funeral arrangements here.

12/24/18  Watch nearly an hour of excerpts from Mollie B's 2016 Christmas Special available online for the first time courtesy of Farm and Ranch TV.

11/1/18  For those of you way-early planners, the schedule for Slovenefest 2019 has been finalized and released. It takes place July 12-14, 2019, at the SNPJ Recreation Center, Boro of SNPJ, Enon Valley, PA, and co-sponsored by the Slovene National Benefit Society. Make your plans now!

Johnny 6/15/18  We had the pleasure of spending some time with one of our faithful listeners and most frequent callers on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at the Slovene Heritage's Center weekend with the Frank Stanger Orchetsra at the SNPJ Recreation Center in Enon Valley, PA. That's Johnny "5-pack" Preisner from New Castle. Surprise - he's requesting something by Johnny Pecon.

11/6/16  KHB Radio is now simulcasting on 102.1 FM serving the city of Pittsburgh, PA. The signal eminates from the WDUQ tower in the city's Oakland section. You can also hear us on 92.3 FM and 94.1 FM (which both generally serve eastern Allegheny County and more). Try these FM frequencies for a better Prime Time listening experience. Of course, those listeners out of those areas can get us on 620 AM blasting 5,500 watts into 5 states.

10/29/16  Congratulations to Pam Zagar as she has been awarded 2016 DJ of the Year by the United Musicians Polka Association of Pennsylvania (UMPAPA).  They'll be holding their annual awards banquet at Imperial SNPJ Lodge 106 on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016.  Find the complete details of the event on our Weekender page.  Congrats to UMPAPA's 2016 Man of the Year Brian O'Boyle and the other award winners!

4/22/16  On our April 16 show, Dick Tady stopped by to premiere his latest solo project He's Back!. The first song is dedicated to his grandchildren Maggie & Justie Dvorsak. Here they are in-studio with Jerry during the broadcast.

3/27/16  With deep sadness, we regret to report the passing of George Suhon on Easter Sunday, March 27. Please join us in praying for the Suhon family at this most difficult time.  Send cards and letters to Beth Suhon, 598 Dry Ridge Rd., West Alexander, PA, 15376. View the obituary here.

The pottery that grows. Awesome. You can pick these up at Ames and Woolworth department stores.

2/2/16  After 15+ years of hosting our online-only radio station, Live365 has ceased broadcasting at the end of January. It was a great run but we're opening up a new, even better online-only station with an incredibly long playlist of polkas, waltzes and more. Keep checking back here for the latest details and an official launch date to be announced very soon.

11/10/14 Times are a changin'...literally.  Starting this weekend, Satuirday, Nov. 15, our KHB show can now be heard from noon-1PM EST.

8/13/12  We are now a part of Milwaukee, WI, radio!  We are in a rotation of polka DJs broadcasting the Slovenian / Cleveland Style hour at Polka Parade.  This Milwaukee broadcast just happens to run simultaneously with our KHB Pittsburgh show.  Ahhh, the wonders of technology.  Our first broadcasts were July 21 & August 11, 2012, at 11AM Central.  If you're in the Milwaukee area, tune in live on 1340AM WJYI.  If not, your can listen by podcast via their website at polkaparade.org.  Thanks to Don Hunjadi & everyone at Polka Parade for inviting us to come aboard!

8/26/10  Catch the "Steve Meisner and Friends" performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., as they represented the state of Wisconsin.  Recorded live on Wednesday, August 25, 2010.

3/27/10  We're very saddened to report the passing of Steve Pucker shown here singing his signature "Just Because Polka" on the Gateway Clipper in July 2005 with the Jack Tady Band.  Steve was a great friend of us & our radio program for many years.  You can view an article written about him back in 2006 in the Pittsburgh Senior Times.  Rest in peace, Stevo.  You will be missed.

We've created quite a stir with Walter Ostanek's recent release of the song "Waltz of the Angels" on his Back to Back Hall of Fame Polkas CD.  Not only is it a certified fan favorite on our show, but filtering into other area polka shows as well.  As soon as we heard the song, we knew it would be a hit.  Check Walter's February 20th blog for some background info on the song & why it took four years to finally get it released.  There's also a link to preview "Waltz of the Angels" if you haven't heard it as of yet.

Here's an interesting mini-documentary of Slovenefest 2008, the SNPJ and the SNPJ Recreation Center in the Borough of SNPJ (Enon Valley), PA.

Here's a brief but very informative history of Slovenian style polkas in Cleveland, OH.
