From small taverns to large concerts, Autobahn is perfect for your next German/Bavarian-themed event.  We specialize in German/Bavarian music but play a variety of music from polka to classic rock.  This ensemble looks the part with full authentic lederhosen and plays true O-fest musik the way Prince Ludwig heard it at his wedding, which is how "Oktoberfest" came to be, plus the beer-drinking, stein-swaying, prost-pounding, pretzel-munching, boot-slapping SING-A-LONGS and PARTY SONGS that you would expect to hear at the Tents in Munich, Germany.



 The Players

Karl Lukitsch - Piano Accordion, Button Accordion, Keyboards & Vocals
Founder and leader of the Karl Lukitsch Band in 1997 & Autobahn in 2009.  Played, traveled and recorded with many top bands.  Well versed in composition.  Has recorded over thirty-five original songs on seven albums.  Celebrated thirty-five years of playing music in May 2009.

Jerry Zagar - Bass Guitar & Vocals
Joined the Karl Lukitsch Band in late 2006 & Autobahn in 2009.  Co-hosts & produces Prime Time Polkas, a popular radio broadcast in Western PA & on the web.  His dedication to the music shows as he continues to play with many bands.

John Yukovich - Drums
Joined the Karl Lukitsch Band in 1998 & now Autobahn in 2009.  Played with many top bands over the years and is considered one of the premier drummers in the polka field.

Ron Groholski - Sax, Clarinet, Vocal
Joined the Karl Lukitsch Band in 2000.  His musical background spans fifty-plus years, traveling with the Army band and tamburitzan groups before settling into the polka field.  His personality and "on stage antics" keep the crowd excited throughout every performance.

Frank Puskar - Banjo, Guitar & Vocals
Re-joined the band in 2001.  Played with Karl on and off since 1980.  Also played in many top bands and on many recordings.  Is one of the most talented and most dedicated "sideman" in the music industry.

Saturday, May 15, 2010 at Teutonia Mannerchor, 9pm.  This is Teutonia's spring concert beginning at 7:30pm.  Catch the Autobahn Band's performance afterwards around 9pm.  Members & guests only.
Friday, June 4, 2010 at the Slovenian Crystal Ballroom, Herminie, PA, 8-11:30pm.  This is a country/polka/variety dance held in their downstairs Horizon Room performed by the Autobahn Trio.  Public is welcome.
